About The Course
On Art Publishing – From Conceptualisation to Distributionis a 3-day multi-disciplinary course examining the world of literary arts and publications as an ideal format for artistic presentation and documentation to engage with a community of readers and contributors.
Art publishing is a unique aspect of the industry, with its own distinctive characteristics. In what forms, with what means and for what reasons do artists and authors publish today? What is the creative process like, and how does an artist or author navigate this diverse and complex sector? Varied genres and forms will be explored, including artists monographs, photo books, zines, art books etc.
From conceptualisation to distribution, participants will learn about the decisions that bring an idea to actual product. Through the programme, participants will also learn practical and transferable skills on proof-reading, book editing and book project management. The opportunity to reskill and upskill will help those in the digital media sector stay relevant.
