IdeasCity Singapore Residency Programme
Application Deadline: Sunday, 1 December 2019

We are excited to announce an open call for participants in IdeasCity Singapore, the next edition of the institution’s civic platform that explores the future of cities with art and culture as a driving force. The residency will take place from 15 – 23 February 2020, and is open to emerging practitioners working at the intersections of urbanism, art, design, community activism, and technology.

IdeasCity Singapore invites makers and thinkers from Southeast Asia and around the world to join this week-long studio program to investigate cultural, ecological, and material strategies for the future of our urban ecosystems. Participation in the studio residency is determined through an open submission process. Up to 20–30 applicants will be selected as Fellows by an international panel of artists and curators.

IdeasCity Singapore Fellows will work together for the duration of the program, providing an opportunity for intense collaboration, creativity, and learning. Beyond the Fellows’ own projects, the nine-day studio residency will also include related workshops, site visits, lectures, and discussions with local experts, including artists, designers, policymakers, and community members. IdeasCity Singapore will culminate in a high-profile public program featuring conversations, artist talks, demos, and keynotes by an array of local and internationally acclaimed cultural agents whose work engages the forces that define our cities.

Applications will be accepted until Sunday, 1 December 2019; candidates will be informed of their application status by early December, 2019. IdeasCity Singapore will require a full-time commitment from February 15 through February 23, 2019. An honorarium, as well as meals, will be provided for all Fellows. Housing will be provided for Fellows traveling to Singapore.
