Curating Lab 2014 – 2015
Curating Lab offers recent graduates and young curators exposure into contemporary curatorial perspectives and practices. Organised by NUS Museum with support from the National Arts Council, this programmme consists of a curatorial-intensive designed as a workshop and an overseas field trip, followed by internship assignments to contemporary art spaces in Singapore. Participants are guided by their programme facilitators and internship mentors to work towards a final exhibition project.
The programme will focus on contemporary art and curatorial practices that engage with the production of knowledge; one that is multifarious, relational and participatory, providing scopes for intents and slippages, opened to interpretative articulations and re-articulations, subjected to varying contexts of exhibition making and the very audiences that perform and shapes its production.
NTU CCA Singapore Curators served as mentors for this collaboration and hosted four interns to work closely within the different projects of the NTU CCA Singapore. Experience ranged from assisting with research, working closely with artists, communications, and the logistical aspects of day-to-day museum work.
